Parkland Preparatory Academy is a private therapeutic day school providing a comprehensive education for students, ages 5 - 21, with special and diagnostic needs. The school recently purchased a building it had leased from District 46 in 2010. Unfortunately, during this time, very little maintenance had been completed on the MEP/FP systems.

VES was brought in to perform an initial MEP/FP systems assessment detailing code deficiencies and capacity issues and providing recommendations for economically feasible improvements.

VES documented the mechanical systems including, chilled water, hydronic heat pump, package units, and other systems. Electrical systems included service voltage, total ampacity, switchgear and panels, number of breakers and poles, and AIC ratings. Plumbing/fire protection included sanitary waste line locations if visible, sink, toilet, floor sink condition/drainage, grease traps or interceptor locations and associated lines, and general conditions. Also noted were any code violations, safety issues, or other miscellaneous items impacting the site.
